Hazel's Snickerdoodles

The classic snickerdoodle, rolled in cinnamon & sugar, with that special kick that only Cream of Tartar can bring.

Ingredients

Cookies

  • 1 cup Soft Lard
  • cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • cup Flour
  • 2 tsp Cream of Tartar Cannot be substituted
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • ½ tsp Salt

Cinnamon Sugar Mixture

  • 2 tbsp Granulated Sugar Note: tablespoon
  • 2 tsp Cinnamon Note: teaspoon

Instructions

  • Cream lard, sugar, and eggs
  • Mix in dry ingredients.
  • Chill dough for 1 hour.
  • Make cinnamon sugar mixture.
  • Roll into 1" balls, then roll in balls in cinnamon sugar mixture.
  • Bake at 400° for 8-12 minutes until golden brown.
